There’s an honesty that comes when you’re alone.

You can let down your guard, take off your mask, and stop pretending.

Are there parts of yourself that you work hard to hide, even from your closest friends?
When alone, you don’t have to conform to other people’s expectations.
But if we are honest, each of us has a deep desire to be known by someone and finally be accepted as we are.
We hide away because we fear it’s impossible.
But the truth is, we can be fully known and fully loved and accepted.
O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!
And when I wake up, you are still with me!
Psalm 139: 1, 13, 17, 18b

Known fully

Consider who knows you better than anyone – your friends, or maybe your family? What about the God who made you? Nothing is hidden from your Creator.
The fact that God knows everything about you isn’t bad news, but the best news!
Though your fears and shame are known by him, he loves you as you are.
God’s desire is for you to trust him so that he can save, protect, and restore you.

The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them… and give them my salvation.”
Psalm 91:14-16

Find Freedom

When your fear makes you want to hide who you are from everyone around you, God longs to free you from your shame.

You can then be free to be yourself, without fear of what other people think, because you will know that you are loved and accepted by God. His love will not fail.
