"Sin" is just a term people use to describe their guilty conscience.

What’s the point of living a life marked by guilt and shame?

We grow up surrounded by opinions of how we should live, and then we are expected to feel guilty for all of our imperfections.
I don’t want to live like that! God just has to take me as I am.
And yet… if we go through life brushing aside our shortcomings and offences, are we really set free from feeling shame?
What if there is something better than ignoring our sin? What if there is freedom from it?
For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.
But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law…
Romans 3:20-21

Guilt cleared

We cannot escape a life shadowed by guilt and shame by our own effort. We need someone to pardon our guilt, to pay our debt.
It is only through Jesus Christ that we can find forgiveness and freedom.
God can justly pardon us, because even though Jesus was righteous he paid the price of our sin through his death.
It’s not about you being better or more religious than someone else.

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.
Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.
Romans 3:23-24
